The mini and mini maria icicles start with 12.7mm clear borosilicate rod and the regular and large maria start as 16mm clear borosilicate rod. Quality handmade icicles are flameworked with love and dedication to the craft, after each piece is shaped and melted in the flame it is placed in a kiln to be annealed relieving any stress in the glass and making it strong as possible. Borosilicate glass is not the same as regular lead glass it was made for chemistry and to be resistant to thermal shock and more durable and it is.
